PARENT COACHING
Support for the moments when parenting feels hard, confusing, or just plain exhausting.
You’re Doing Your Best—But Something Still Feels Off
Parenting can be overwhelming, especially when you’re trying so hard and still feel like things aren’t improving. Whether your child is acting out, shutting down, or just seems “off,” it’s easy to feel frustrated, worried, or alone. At A Calm Mind Therapy, we believe parents deserve support—not blame. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
Practical Tools. Real Connection.
Parent coaching is a supportive space where we look at your child’s behavior, your parenting goals, and what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we’ll build strategies that actually work for your family—ones that strengthen connection, reduce stress, and help you feel more calm and confident in your parenting journey.
You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:
Repeating the same arguments and power struggles
Second-guessing every decision you make
Feeling disconnected from the child you love so much
how i can help
Practical, personalized support to help you feel more confident and connected in your parenting.
How is parent coaching different from therapy?
Parent coaching focuses on practical tools, education, and emotional support for navigating your role as a parent. While therapy may explore deeper emotional patterns, trauma, or mental health concerns, coaching is typically more present-focused and goal-oriented. You don’t need a diagnosis—just a desire to grow and feel more grounded in your parenting.
Do I attend parent coaching sessions without my child?
Most of the time, yes. Parent coaching sessions are typically one-on-one between you and your therapist, giving you space to reflect, ask questions, and build strategies without distractions. In some cases, we may include your child briefly to model tools or improve communication—but the primary focus is on supporting you as the parent.
I want you to know:
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Parenting doesn’t come with a manual—and it’s normal to feel unsure or overwhelmed at times. Through parent coaching, you’ll gain support, encouragement, and practical strategies to help you feel more confident, connected, and equipped to guide your child through life’s challenges.

Common questions about parent coaching
-
How does this differ from therapy?
Think of it as having a guide and coach in your parenting journey, offering encouragement and actionable steps. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. -
How long does it take? Parent coaching is designed to be short-term and solution-focused. Most parents begin to see progress after just a few sessions, and many complete their goals in 6–12 sessions. The exact length depends on your needs—some parents want a few focused sessions to tackle a specific challenge (like bedtime routines or sibling conflict), while others choose ongoing coaching for continued support as their child grows.
Our work together is flexible: you set the pace, and we adjust the length based on your goals, progress, and what feels most supportive for your family.

Step 1: Start – Getting Clear
We begin with an intake session to understand your parenting goals and challenges.
Together, we identify the areas you want support in—whether that’s routines, behavior, or building stronger connections.
Step 2: Build Tools – Learning & Practicing
Each session provides practical strategies you can use right away.
We work on communication, discipline approaches, and strengthening your confidence as a parent.
You’ll receive encouragement and guidance as you try new tools at home.
Step 3: See Change – Growing Stronger Together
With consistency, families often notice positive changes within a few weeks.
Sessions continue for as long as you find them helpful (typically 6–12 sessions).
The goal is lasting confidence, less stress, and more harmony at home.
